Kevin Decker was born in Prince George, BC and moved to Nanaimo in 1980. In 1985 his father, John Decker, opened Mid-Island Mortgage & Savings. Kevin joined his father as part of the team in 1997 and is currently running the company.

The Mid Island Mortgage Legacy created by John and Kevin Decker involves keeping promises to clients, a strong work ethic and aiming to create lasting relationships with every client that walks through the door. To this day, there‘s nothing more rewarding for Kevin than those moments where he’s able to help a client achieve financial success and independence.

Since Kevin took over the company in 2002, Mid Island Mortgage has grown to a small family of 3 professional hard working mortgage brokers and a smart understanding office manager.

Kevin is an avid sportsman. For those rare occasions when he’s not in the office he can be found at the Nanaimo Golf and Country Club, at a Canucks or BC Lions Game or supporting the local Vancouver Island Raiders football team.

That mission continues to be a driving force through today. Jason Barudin has always sought out the nation‘s most creative and responsible lenders. This enables him to be one of Nanaimo’s most respected mortgage brokers.

Born and raised in Nanaimo, Blaire joined the Mid-Island Mortgage & Savings team in 2022 as a Mortgage Broker. We welcome the addition of her more than 15 years of experience in the Financial Service and Mortgage sector. She prides herself in her ability to build lasting relationships and values her clients. Blaire finds it incredibly rewarding to assist clients with their mortgage needs. She works hard to find what is important to them, and will help find solutions that are the best fit. Blaire knows that applying for a mortgage can be a daunting process, but will make the experience as stress-free as possible.

Born and raised amidst the coastal beauty of Nanaimo, Tyler recently returned to his roots after
a decade spent in Calgary and Vancouver. As a fresh face in the mortgage scene, he brings a
dedication to hard work, honesty, and unwavering integrity to every client interaction.
Tyler thrives on forging meaningful connections and believes in the power of relationship
through-out the mortgage process. Beyond the world of finance, you’ll often find him amidst
the natural wonders of Vancouver Island, exploring the trails and coastlines. Or alternatively,
cheering on local baseball and hockey teams, or honing his skills on the golf course. Passionate
about my work, Tyler is always eager to embrace new challenges and experiences.
